Cancer Therapy & Support
As a stage 3a breast cancer survivor, I understand the unique emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. You don't have to navigate this alone.
What is Cancer Therapy & Support?
Cancer therapy and support provides a safe space to process the overwhelming emotions that come with a cancer diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, or caring for a loved one with cancer.
As a survivor of stage 3a breast cancer myself, I understand firsthand that receiving a cancer diagnosis can be one of the most overwhelming events in your life. Since cancer impacts almost every area of your life—home, work, finances, and your closest relationships—it's an especially necessary time to seek help for your emotional health.
Is this right for me?
Cancer therapy and support can help if you're experiencing:
Recent cancer diagnosis
Cancer diagnosis of a loved one
Caregiving for a loved one with cancer
Anxiety, fear, and panic about diagnosis or treatment
Need for couples counseling through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship
Sexuality concerns after (and through) cancer treatment
Survivorship and adjusting to life after treatment
Fear of recurrence
Cancer recurrence and/or advancement
Terminal cancer and end-of-life concerns
Isolation and feeling the need to protect loved ones from your fears
Having survived cancer myself, I bring both clinical expertise and personal experience to this work.
I understand that anxiety, fear, and panic are all common reactions that can persist well after treatment is completed. I create a safe space where you can explore and process your thoughts and feelings freely without worrying about how your listener may feel.
Research shows how integral mental health is to our physical health, particularly in the success of treatment, and strong relationships can serve as a buffer against cancer-related stress.
What to Expect
Cancer often comes with the added stress of feeling the need to protect your loved ones from your own fears and emotions, which can lead to isolation. In therapy, you can expect:
Permission to express your full range of emotions – fear, anger, grief, hope, and uncertainty
A safe space free from judgment where you don't have to protect others from your feelings
Support making sense of your journey and what it means for your life and relationships
Strengthening your relationships through this difficult time
Processing the impact on your identity, body image, and sexuality
Learning to live with hope in times of uncertainty
Building resilience as you navigate treatment, survivorship, or caregiving
Whether you come as an individual, couple, or family, it's an honor to walk alongside you during this challenging chapter.
