Telehealth (Video Session)

Telehealth is a convenient, easy way to safely get the support you need for individual, couple, or family concerns.

Benefits of Telehealth

  • Consistent care for people with schedules that make it difficult to come to in-office appointments.

  • Ideal for people with busy travel schedules.

  • Allows for access to care for people who live in rural, under-served areas.

  • Delivers the same, effective care as in-office visits.

  • Allows you to maintain continuity of care during weather, health-related and other situations which make it difficult or impossible for you to attend in-office appointments.

  • Remain in the comfort of your own home or space of your choosing.

How does Telehealth work?

We use a HIPAA-compliant platform accessed through your account in my client portal. Once you sign in, you will be in a virtual waiting room and your therapist will let you into the session.

Checklist for successful telehealth sessions

  • Complete the Telehealth Consent Form in your account in the client portal.

  • Have a computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone.

  • You can access your telehealth session via your desktop or a mobile device downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Look for Simple Practice Client Portal.

  • Select a place where you can ensure the maximum privacy possible for your telehealth session.

  • Use a secure, high-speed internet connection (i.e. not a public, password-free connection) to ensure privacy.

  • Join your session 1-2 minutes before your scheduled time to account for any technical issues.

  • Have your phone nearby so that we can communicate in case we experience technical difficulties during your session.
